Welcome to my Digital Portfolio!
My name is Anna Thormann and I am a 2nd semester undergraduate teaching assistant for the English Department at the University of Maryland. I was also a TA last Spring for Professor John Kim before I went away to study abroad in Milan, Italy in the Fall. I am a junior Finance and Accounting major at the Smith School of Business, and a recent graduate of the Science, Discovery, and the Universe College Park Scholars Program. Apart from being a UTA for English 101, I am also a UTA for the Astronomy Department, and a tutor for student athletes at the Academic Success and Career Development Unit of the Department of Athletics. When I am not in class or at work, I can often be found at the Ballroom Dancing Club or at Club Swimming.
Within this Portfolio, you will find both of the lesson plans that I delivered this semester, my Learning Artifact, notes on classroom observations, and reflections on how I have developed as a UTA over the past two semesters. In addition, I have included a link to my Final Portfolio from last Spring below. I hope that you can learn from my experiences studying and teaching English throughout the year. Enjoy!
